COVER CRAZY: This Shattered World (Starbound #2)

Aime Kaufman and Meagan Spooner
Expected Publication: Dec. 23, 2014
Publisher: Disney-Hyperion

Goodreads Summary:

The second installment in our epic Starbound trilogy introduces
a new pair of star-crossed lovers on two sides of a bloody war.
Jubilee Chase and Flynn Cormac should never have met.

Lee is captain of the forces sent to Avon to crush the terraformed planet's rebellious colonists, but she has her own reasons for hating the insurgents.

Rebellion is in Flynn's blood. Terraforming corporations make their fortune by recruiting colonists to make the inhospitable planets livable, with the promise of a better life for their children. But they never fulfilled their promise on Avon, and decades later, Flynn is leading the rebellion.

Desperate for any advantage in a bloody and unrelentingly war, Flynn does the only thing that makes sense when he and Lee cross paths: he returns to base with her as prisoner. But as his fellow rebels prepare to execute this tough-talking girl with nerves of steel, Flynn makes another choice that will change him forever. He and Lee escape the rebel base together, caught between two sides of a senseless war.

The stunning second novel in the Starbound trilogy is an unforgettable story of love and forgiveness in a world torn apart by war.
Presenting the cover for the Starbound trilogy's second installment... This Shattered World

What do you think of the cover? Good? Not so good? Okay?

Now, let's take a look at the side by side preview of the first two books of the trilogy.

Honestly, the first book's cover is more attractive and captivating than the second book. The colors of the first book are more easy on the eyes, and the image is clearer. Although I favor These Broken Star's cover more, I still like how consistent the cover of the books are - the big thin font of the title, the starry universe background, and the characters reaching out for each other. It'still good.

How do you find the cover? Thoughts? Comments?

  1. I agree that the first cover is prettier, but I actually do really like this one too. Thanks for showing it off!
